Rijswijk (The Netherlands) ̶ GMP+ International introduced a new standard: GMP+MUI 105 GMO controlled. This standard is developed in cooperation with VLOG and meets the demands for a GMO controlled standard in feed.
Because of the increased importance of non-GMO feed production, GMP+ International has teamed up with VLOG (Verband Lebensmittel Ohne Gentechnik), owner of a non-GMO scheme in the feed & food chain, to facilitate GMP+ FSA certified feed companies to comply with this market demand. Together with VLOG and an international GMP+ working group, GMP International worked on the all-new GMP+MI 105 GMO Controlled standard. GMP+ International and VLOG have a strong partnership to ensure GMO-controlled feed and food.
This new standard has been published on the GMP+ online portal, as part of the GMP+ Feed Responsibility Assurance (FRA) module of the GMP+ Feed Certification scheme. It covers the whole feed supply chain: production, trade, storage & trans-shipment and transport, for GMO controlled feed.
GMP+ International is convinced that the GMP+MI 105 GMO Controlled Feed standard will enable companies to meet the market demand for non-GMO feed. The organisation askes users of the standard to help improve the standard even more, by giving feedback on the standard as it has been presented at present. “Your experiences will help us facilitate feed companies to comply with the market demand even better,” states GMP+ International.
