Barentz has acquired Sevecom, an Italy-based specialist in emulsifiers. Sevecom offers in-house developed and patented solutions for animal nutrition. The acquisition of Sevecom is aligned with Barentz’ strategy to become a global leader in life science ingredients and to further expand its animal nutrition solutions.
Headquartered in Milan, Italy, Sevecom has a prominent home-market position. “Since starting our company in 1978, we have always invested in knowledge, via our well-experienced team of nutritionists and technicians, in order to really make the difference for our customers,” said Sevecom’s founders Nazzaro Serino and Enrico Pigorini. Sevecom is a specialist in emulsifiers for the animal nutrition market, delivering emulsifiers, additives and raw materials for the feed industry and for livestock breeding.
“To continue this success, we have had to scale-up and find a partner with a wider international network that facilitates our growth. In Barentz, we have found just the right partner to continue our journey. They have the same passion for animal nutrition as we have, and they know what partnership means to a family-owned business.”
According to Hidde van der Wal, CEO of Barentz, the acquisition perfectly fits in Barentz’ portfolio for animal nutrition. “Sevecom has a very strong position, with patented emulsifiers. Together with our animal nutrition team and our global network there will be new opportunities to offer added value to all feed industry customers,” he remarked.
