Second IFTC during Victam International

IFTC
After a successful first edition, IFTC will be held for the second time during Victam International in Utrecht.

The second International Feed Technology Congress (IFTC 2022) will take place in Utrecht (The Netherlands). This event is scheduled for Tuesday 31 May and Wednesday 1 June 2022 during the Victam International exhibition. The IFTC is an initiative of Wageningen University and the Victam Foundation.

Knowledge exchange

Students, professors, researchers and professionals from industry are invited to participate. The aim of the IFTC 2022 is to bring people from research institutions and industry together. This will enable them to exchange knowledge and expertise. Furthermore, technical and scientific developments in the fields of animal feed technology will be shared. And the latest results and findings can be discussed. The goal is to provide a vehicle to enhance cooperation between industry and research institutions. This will allow creation of innovative projects and collaborations.

Congress

The congress will see thematic presentations by international keynote speakers as well as oral and poster presentations. Contributions to the IFTC 2022 will be published as a special issue of the Journal ‘Animal Feed Science & Technology’.

Themes

The congress will address new technologies for future solutions (1), valorization of raw materials by technology (2) and technology of pre-mixtures and feed additives/bio-active products (3).

Themes include research into new technologies without the necessity to be typical associated with the animal feed industry, feed ingredients, compound diets or animal species. Future challenges require novel solutions which can originate from all kinds of technologies,  commonly employed in other sectors such as the food or the sensor industry.

In addition, research into the effects of technology on (anti)nutrients (how to improve feeding value) are welcome also with respect to physical properties (feed structure, texture, et cetera).

Finally, technology directed towards pre-mixtures and feed additives/bio-active products will be addressed. Spraying and coating techniques for mash and pellets, for example, are a fascinating subject for the congress. Next to contributions to animal (including production, companion, zoo, et cetera) nutrition, technologies associated with human foods are welcome.

For each theme of the congress, keynote speakers, oral presentations and poster pitch will be scheduled.

Call for papers

Those interested to participate in the congress, can forward their contributions to the organisers by sending an email. The abstract provided should include should include a title, name of author(s) and affiliation(s) and one-page pdf-abstract; letter type, times new roman font size 11 (references 10 pnts). Please mention ‘IFTC 2022 Abstract’ in the subject line.

The abstract – once accepted – will appear in the ’Book of Abstracts’ that will be used during the congress. Abstract will be reviewed by the IFTC scientific committee on suitability to the themes of the congress and scientific quality. A decision on acceptance of the abstract will be provided two weeks after submission with all accepted abstracts.

Deadline for the submission of Abstracts to the IFTC is March 1, 2022. Emails can be send to: Thomas.vanderpoel@IFTC.online. More information on the IFTC can be found on the congress website.
