Collaboration between Fransen Gerrits and Theeuwes Mixed Feed

French Gerrits from Erp and Theeuwes Mixed Feed from Ulicoten have entered into a strategic partnership. According to both parties, the partnership will create “a powerful company that will help livestock farmers in the Netherlands and Belgium be successful with feed and advice.”

There has been a good relationship between the Brabant family businesses for a long time. Both companies are united within the purchasing combination Centrico and have been exchanging knowledge and production for a long time. Theeuwes and Fransen Gerrits are also closely connected in terms of corporate culture.

Similarities

“Due to the strong similarities, we see Fransen Gerrits as the ideal partner for cooperation,” says Victor Theeuwes, director and co-owner of Theeuwes Mengvoeders. “The vision of both parties, which is essential for this future-oriented decision, is also the most characteristic of how we want to position ourselves in the market as an ‘entrepreneurial feed specialist’.”

Clout power

Huub Fransen, director and co-owner of Fransen Gerrits: “Entrepreneurship means looking ahead. The market is changing and in order to remain the right contact in the chain, the necessary clout and company size are required. This, in combination with the desired flexibility, ensures that Theeuwes Mengvoeders fits perfectly within the future plans that we as a company are pursuing.”

Optimization

With Theeuwes as part of the Fransen Gerrits group, the opportunity is created to optimize production and logistics. Both the focus regions and animal categories of both companies, where the majority of sales are focused on pigs, cattle, goats and rabbits, fit together seamlessly. The production location in Ulicoten, in combination with the Fransen Gerrits factories in East Brabant and Belgium, offers a better distribution across (Southern) Netherlands and Belgium.

Continuation

Within the new situation, in which Victor and Joris Theeuwes remain shareholders, Theeuwes will continue to serve its customers under the familiar name Theeuwes Mengvoeders. After approval by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets, the collaboration will be further developed. This process is expected to be completed in the summer of 2022.
